On this one-week trip we explore Russia’s two most important cities in detail. In Moscow, we take in the Kremlin, the 16th century Saint Basil’s Cathedral, see the chandeliers and statues in its famed metro stations and have the chance to see Lenin’s embalmed body in its Red Square mausoleum. Later we discover the contrasting architecture of St. Petersburg, with its European influences and vast, flamboyant palaces. Whilst here we admire the artwork in the vast Hermitage Museum and visit the extravagant Peterhof Palace with its golden statues and cascading fountains.
